Artist & Muralist

Exhibiting Artist and Muralist Alissa Siegal explores the power of art in exhibition, in public art and in her community with youth-focused workshops and programming.

Art In Exhibition

Alissa has shown her art widely, in galleries and museums, and in various non-traditional spaces.

Art In the Public

During the shutdown Alissa began creating public work, driven by a desire to see the uplifting power of art free and accessible to anyone.

Art In the Classroom

Alissa has been leading art classes and workshops almost as long as she has been making art. She is passionate about supporting young artists and providing access to creative and problem solving skills.

Artist, Muralist, Arts Educator, Alissa

Alissa is a Connecticut-based artist, organizer, and arts educator. Her work focuses mostly on the natural world.

“I’ve been drawing, painting, and building things for as long as I can remember. My art is about the mind bending range of creatures and energy in the world, and depicting them with a mix of looseness and tightness, and plenty of color.

Our natural world offers some of life’s starkest contrasts and greatest wonders. My paintings look at the individuality and complexity of living things existing in an unpredictable and chaotic world. How I make art echoes nature, with specific and detailed description co-existing with chaotic and spontaneous elements. In this way I attempt to approach the beauty and strangeness of our ever changing world.'“

Where art, education and community come together.

Stamford Murals grew from a desire to create public art that anyone could see, and to engage and mentor youth artists. Alissa partnered with RiseUp for Arts to found a company that could bring uplifting public art and art experiences to Stamford while engaging and mentoring young artists.
