SPS Anchor asked me to create a mural for their school and engage students in the process. We met once a week after school, and over eight weeks designed and installed this mural. Artist Brea Young assisted, while Lauren Clayton of Studio162 Design and DonJ of Swagstar Art visited to share their stories of becoming professional artists and to work with the students. The mural was truly a collaborative process and pushed the students to work outside of their comfort zones. Hopefully the experience will serve as inspiration for their creative projects and futures.
